After his nephew Alex Iwobi performance in the AFCON final, some Nigerians went to his social media handles to criticize his performance and fingers Ex-Super Eagle player Jay Jay for lobbying him to play for the team when other good players were benched.
Responding to the critics, Okocha has urged Nigerians to be mindful of how they treat people and don’t view life from a losing side but rather complement efforts made in the process.
He said, “I pray for my country Nigeria and the people that can only hate and see nothing good in others, when effort counts for nothing, treat people the way you want them to treat you,all we have is this life is each other, we love you @alexanderiwobi ❤️and we keep going no matter what they say,the lord is good all the time and we trust that his will be done in our lives amen 🙏.”
