A young boy of 14 years old in junior Secondary School had a dream of becoming rich at 28, he also estimated to get married within the age range of 28 or 30. He sat for WAEC at the age of 17 and passed. Yeah! he was very intelligent and serious with his academics as they earlier told him “Education is the key to success”. He proceeded to take Jamb @ 18 and got above the cutoff mark but the aptitude test held him captive because his chosen tertiary institution only favors those who has good connection. Unfortunately before realizing the system he spent 4 years writing Jamb and aptitude tests, then he was already 22 years old.
The young man now understood the system and decided to apply to any institution that would easily admit him at 23. He applied for a supposed 5 years engineering course. Not understanding the school system made him have carryovers that led him to spend an extra year (because he thought it requires only intelligence to pass exams without knowing Lecturers nowadays demand more from students).
Finally, he’s now a graduate at the age of 29 and luckily he got shortlisted to serve Nigeria at 29 or 30. After his service year, he then realized the dream he had to marry at this age without a solid plan to back it up.
With good results, an NYSC discharge certificate, and a well-prepared CV he organized all and moved to reputable companies in Nigeria to search for white kola jobs. Five years later he was still unemployed. At that point, he understood that most appointments are meant for applicants below his age range and also those with working experience.
He got stranded and disappointed and the journey of job hunting Continued for five years without success.
At last
- The young man ended up speaking good English and telling the whole world how bad the system was.
- He started blaming his rich uncles why they don’t help anyone
- He’s no longer thinking of being rich or getting married even @ 40
- At one point, he couldn’t meet up living in the city, so he decided to relocate to the village where he won awards for impregnating young ladies and terrorizing his Community.
- At 40 he was already a successful fool.
EDUCATION IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS AND ALSO A PADLOCK TO SUCCESS FOR THOSE THAT FAIL TO DISCOVER THEMSELVES IN THE PROCESS OF BEING EDUCATED.
Going to school isn’t an assurance that guarantees everybody employment, the system is no longer like that. Only 20% out of 100% are likely to get a job after graduating. Let the acquired knowledge in school help you to develop yourself and hence employ others.
- You can learn a skill while in school
- You can start up a business too
- If your department doesn’t give you much time, then make a workable plan for a business you’ll embark on immediately after graduating.
STOP DEPENDING ON THE GOVERNMENT OR RICH PEOPLE WHEN YOU CAN WORK HARD AND BE SUCCESSFUL.
STOP THINKING THAT RICH MEN ARE INTO RITUAL OR ILLEGAL BUSINESSES, IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN YOUR POOR LIFE.
WORK HARD AND BE SMART.
